Buchenwald Memorial Tower

The third object in the festival was the bell tower. This 50-metre-high tower is made of light-colored sandstone and can be seen from afar. As a dramatic highlight, the tower forms the end of the pilgrimage-like memorial complex, on the way past the famous bronze sculpture. At the very top of the tower is the Buchenwald bell, which chimes every hour.
