The selection of works for Goldstücke has now been completed. Over the past week, we have contacted all artists whose works will be realized. A heartfelt thank you to all the creative minds who participated in the Open Call for the 2025 edition of the festival Goldstücke. Light – Art – Projects Gelsenkirchen. We truly appreciate the time, creativity, and passion you invested in your projects – the diversity and quality of the submissions greatly impressed us.
From now on, the City of Gelsenkirchen will take over further communication. All information about the selected projects and artists will be published on this website:

For the Gelsenkirchen's 150th city anniversary, Goldstücke will transform the urban space into an atmospheric stage for artistic light productions across four evenings: from Thursday, October 2 to Sunday, October 5 2025.
The theme of this year is: "Active Positive." The term is inspired by the spatial design concepts of Polish architect and artist Oskar Hansen and is intended as an invitation: In times of populism, social division, and retreat into the private sphere, we want to encourage people to actively and consciously shape their environment and way of life in a positive way.
Goldstücke is an event organized by the City of Gelsenkirchen
supported by the Foundation of the Sparkasse
and curated by Genius Loci Weimar.
