Genius Loci LAB 2019

The Genius Loci LAB as audiovisual Adventure Park is the festival's Live-Stage! This year it is located at Weimarhallenpark. During the week before the festival, various artists* will work on performances and projections, which will then be shown on the festival weekend from 9 to 11 August. The Lab's focus is on exchange and mutual inspiration, the approach is the experiment with light, sound and architecture.

The Place

In the middle of the festival events and in the heart of Weimar you will find a little oasis the "Weimarhallenpark". It is based on a 500-year-old tree garden, which in the 18th century passed to the Don Quixote translator Friedrich Justin Bertuch. The family grave is still located today on this formerly privately used property. The spirit of democracy seized the city and the park in the early 20th century and led to its modification for the benefit of the citizens. This also included the construction of the "Weimarhalle" congress centre, which gave the park its name as an event and cultural space.
