WORKSHOPS 2018

VVVV Beginner-Workshop

The workshop will give a basic introduction , no experience needed whatsoever. We'll cover the essentials about how to use vvvv to make things interactive. We will guide through the sparkling univvvverse of spreads, transforms and packs and will do together some basic patching. If you're new to vvvv, this is for you! If you don't know what vvvv is, it's a visual tool to program interactive things. We will build basic interactive visual effects!

workshop host: Paul Schengber

duration: 2 days / ~5 hours a day

requirements: laptop with latest VVVV Version installed (VVVV is for non commercial use!)

WORKSHOPS 2017

These Workshops took place from August 9 to 13 in 2017.

Realtime Rendering in Touchdesigner with Mxzehn

This workshop will introduce participants to scenographic design with light, moving image and sound through both lectures and practical exercises. A further focus will be placed on the programing of interactive media applications in TouchDesigner.
This software is used to bring complex multimedia installations, in the fields of stage, exhibition and performance design, to life. Procedural two and three dimensional realtime graphics and compositing, video and sound interfaces and a multitude of supported I/O devices can be visually connected like building blocks.
Scenography, namely narration via space, targets all the senses in order to evoke emotion. It is here that different artistic disciplines collide to create an immersive Gesamtkunstwerk which finds complete expression on the stage of time and space.

MXZEHN is dedicated to provide high quality audiovisual art and design for events, concerts, fashion shows and exhibitions.
Projection mapping, realtime motion graphics, VJing and design are the building blocks used by Stefan Kraus to create a unique blend of media and space.

Videomapping workshop with Simona Noera

The VJ workshop is intended to introduce to the participants the use of a tool managing the content of audio visual performances. Starting with basic interface explanation, you will progressively get to learn all the features of the software and get professional suggestions to use Resolume VJ at its best.

During the workshop you will be asked to practice and try by yourself what you are learning. The next step of the class will be the presentation of the video mapping techniques using Resolume Arena. At the end of the workshop, the participants will be encouraged to build their own “object” for video mapping and to present it in front of the class.

Participants will be required to bring their own laptop, computer cables for connecting the projector and pc/laptop, and possibly their own projector (if they have one). They may also bring any hardware controller. To bring their own video footage for projection is not required, but welcome. Workshop will be by held Simona in English.

PROCESSING – ELISE ROSS

programming, visual computer art for beginners

Processing is an open-source, free computer language which was designed to create visual output. Plus, it is a perfect language to learn how to program. This workshop introduces the basic concepts of coding, to afterwards focus on the creative possibilities of processing. After this workshop, participants will be able to create their own sketches. They will also understand, how to modify other code examples. No previous knowledge in programming is required. Participants should bring their own laptop, including the software 'Processing'.
